Free Mortgage Calculator Do you need a simple but effective way of calculating and analysing your mortgage loan options when deciding how much to borrow in a purchase decision ? With this months newsletter we introduce the lastest free sample workbook from the XLAutomation development team. The Mortgage Calculator will enable you to quickly determine the payments and interest required on a mortgage or loan. You can specify standard loan variables like loan amount and interest rate, as well as things like one-off payments or increased payments. Click on the following link to download the Mortgage Calculator workbook and save it to your workstation, then follow the rest of the newsletter for an introduction to the calculator and how it can help you. Specify your Mortgage variables Open the Mortgage Calculator workbook. For each of the cells coloured "Yellow" you can specify your loan variables such as loan amount, interest rate, frequency and term. Based on these variables the required payment is calculated to clear the loan within the term. It is possible to increase the calculated payments by a regular amount, simply specify the amount you can afford in the "Increase Payments by" field and this increase will be factored into the mortgage calculation. Lastly you can include one-off payments within the payment schedule section of the calculator, these payments could be bonuses or inheritance that is received during the term of the loan.  Summary Results With all the loan variables specified the summary results are populated. These include total interest paid, total payments, calculated payment (which is the payment required to clear the loan over the term) and the actual loan term in years. To provide a quick reference on the mortgage repayments an automated chart is provided with the calculator.
