What is an Excel Dashboard?
A dashboard is usually a single pageview of reports comprising of charts, tables and other summaries of data that provide a high-level visual overview of your business.
This client needed a quick and simple way to create rate cards for clients. They already had a set of rates for different transport options based on distance and vehicle types, but the steps required to determine the appropriate costs on a manual basis were time consuming and prone to errors.
A key requirement for this project was to provide the ability to produce a rate card for a set of destinations and then change those and generate a different rate card quickly if needed.
How we help with Dashboards?
The solution was delivered using built-in Excel functions which provided a fast result when changing the rate card destinations and also a really simple spreadsheet the client could understand and modify to suit other requirements for different parts of their business.
The key functionality included to the Rate Calculator was:
Create a new rate card quickly and simply
Change the starting suburb to create a new rate card
Expand the destinations and rates as required by expanding reference data
Outcome & Benefits
Saved hours of manual effort and re-work to create the rate card for clients. Minor changes in a rate card could also be quickly regenerated.
The accuracy and consistency in the calculation of rates for destinations across the vehicle types ensured that all clients received the same rates regardless of the consultant that created the rate card.
